Enrichment

At CHS, we prioritize dog enrichment for well-being and happiness. Providing stimulating items and activities engages brains, fulfills instincts, reduces stress, prevents boredom, and enhances quality of life during their shelter stay. Learn more about Enrichment here.

Behavior Modification

In-shelter dog training includes behavior modification to address unwanted behaviors through classical conditioning. Positive reinforcement and structured training methods teach alternative behaviors, improving well-being and adoptability. Learn more about Behavior Modification here.

Basic Training

Basic training as part of the in-shelter program at Cherryland Humane Society uses positive reinforcement like treats for commands. It builds trust, prepares pets for homes, and provides mental stimulation. Our staff aims for a dog’s full potential through patience and consistency. Learn more here.
