LET’S GET STARTED
CHS animals that are placed within our Foster Program are truly special. Oftentimes, they are selected for the program based off of their needs: medical or behavioral. From young kittens struggling without a nursing mom, to dogs post-surgery, to learning social manners, our foster animals learn life-saving skills in your home, so that they can eventually find their forever place in this world.

Fill out the Foster Application for a dog or cat at CHS.
Match Making Process
If approved, we will match you with an appropriate animal for our household.
Begin
CHS will provide all food, supplies, and medical costs for the animal staying in your home.

TO HELP YOUR FOSTER JOURNEY
– You must be 21 to foster. We accept multiple applications on each animal, it is not on a first come basis. CHS does not guarantee approval for the foster program.
– Applications may be denied for any reason.
– We require all members of the household to meet the pet and multiple visits may be requested.
– All current animals in the household must be spayed/neutered and up to date on necessary vaccinations. Pets must live in the same household as the foster parents.
– CHS staff will not begin foster procedures with a person who is reasonably believed to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
– No animal will be placed into foster to an individual who has failed to comply with the conditions of a previous adoption, including but not limited to the spaying or neutering of the pet.
– You must show a valid drivers license or state ID card.
