Before coming to Cherryland Humane Society, Heidi was the Executive Director for The Humane Society and Animal Rescue of Muskegon County(HSAR). The Michigan Pet Fund Alliance awarded HSAR the 2013 Outstanding Performance Award for most improved limited admission shelter in Michigan while Heidi was at the helm. She has been involved in animal welfare for over 15 years. She has two rescued pit bulls and two cats.
Shelter Operations Manager
Elizabeth has worked as an Animal Care and Adoption Specialist at CHS since 2012. She has a Bachelors degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management and loves all animals. She currently has one spoiled dog at home who is her baby. She has always had pets in her life and is happy that her job now allows her to help other families find their “fur-ever” pets!
Laurel has been on staff at CHS since 2009. Her job consists of managing donor software program, is responsible for acknowledging donor contributions and handling end of day bookkeeping keeping her busy! Although she dearly loves both cats and dogs, she has a real place in her heart for dogs. She and her husband have one dog who is very spoiled and loved very much.
Animal Care Attendant
Ann has worked as a kennel technician at CHS since June of 2015. She loves all the animals but has a soft spot for the cats. She got her start milking goats on the May farm. She looks forward to helping you find your furry friend!
Animal Care Attendant
Kelsey has worked as a kennel technician at CHS since May of 2016 after being a volunteer periodically for a few years. Kelsey manages the medical needs for all animals in our care. She recently graduated with a Bachelors degree in Zoology and plans to work with animals forever. She currently has a hamster, a fish and a Boxer-mix but will certainly be adding more pets in the future.
Animal Care Attendant & Customer Service Specialist
Tia recently graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelors degree in Zoology, Animal Behavior and Neurology. She has been involved with companion animals her entire life and currently spoils her two golden retrievers at home. One day she hopes to work along side service canines in hopes to educate and help others around her. Tia adores all the animals that enter the humane society and is happy to help them find their forever home. In addition to helping care for the animals at the shelter, Tia helps with adoptions and greets visitors as our lead Customer Service Specialist and is heading a pilot program for training.
Volunteer & Community Outreach Coordinator
Deane is an animal lover of all kinds and breeds with an extra soft spot for the feline variety. She has an Australian Shepard mix named Daisy, two cats, Lydia and Mucca, a Bearded Dragon named Tut and two fish. Before becoming a volunteer for CHS in 2016, Deane was in the Ophthalmology/Optometry field for twenty seven years and is now the Volunteer & Community Outreach Coordinator at Cherryland Humane Society.
