Adoptions

  • Central adoption center open six days a week to expedite adoptions
  • Trained, professional and compassionate staff, supplemented by trained, supervised volunteers, to ensure the highest standards of timely and effective animal care and courteous and helpful service for the public
  • Full service dog, puppy, cat and kitten intake
  • Private adoption procedure with professional adoption counselors
  • Adoption items: free ID tag, free collar, free well-health exam by participating veterinarians, reduced spay and neuter fees by participating veterinarians
  • Extremely high adoption rate

Sheltering

  • Two dog kennel adoption centers
  • Cat adoption center
  • Individual indoor and outdoor dog runs to prevent disease
  • Individual air flow systems to control airborne viruses
  • Dog and cat isolation rooms for animals who are ill
  • Examination room where an initial worming and medication are administered, and other medical needs are addressed
  • Grooming room for the maintenance of animal hygiene and appearance
  • Natural lighting to maintain healthy animal disposition
  • Pet interaction room for the pet and adoptor to become acquainted
  • Outside pet interaction area for the pet and adoptor to become acquainted
  • Animals are normally sheltered until they find homes, unless they are seriously ill or aggressive

Animal Intake

  • Full service intake program involving puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats only
  • Call for an appointment before bringing in an animal
  • Accepts animals without an appointment on an emergency basis
  • No fee for bringing an animal to the shelter
  • A donation is requested to help offset the cost of sheltering
  • Animals are normally sheltered until they find homes, unless they are seriously ill or aggressive
  • Socialization, stress reduction, and hygiene programs help animals adjust to their new surroundings
